Many of you didn't know I got engaged in Japan in April of 1964. I left Japan for the United States immediately after graduation. I spent a few weeks in CA, which was home. I then left for IN where I was married on July 3 rd , 1964 to my marine. In October of 1965, I gave birth to our first son Robert. In September of 1968, I gave birth to our second son Kevin. In May of 1973, our daughter Angela was born.

In 1984, I began working with at-risk teens which has been a life long passion. In 1989, I received my Apprentice Counselor Credential (ACC) from the Office of Substance Abuse Services of MI. I worked in family recovery programs, an adolescent treatment center, was a student assistant-counselor and shortly thereafter became the director of an Alternative/Adult Education Program. I retired from the school system in 2008. Retirement didn't last but a month as I have been the Youth Specialist for a local homeless youth shelter and working part-time ever since. I also volunteer my time leading Celebrate Recovery Groups.

In 1985, I became a grand-mother for the first time. Since then I have been blessed with a total of 12 grand-children and 5 great-grand-children!

After 45 years of marriage to my marine, he went home to meet our Lord and savior on June 13, 2009. My grandson, Jacob joined his papa in 2012. My sweet mother passed away in September of 2012. I have since, been finding my “new normal”.

I currently enjoy spending time with family, friends, going to movies, and am always willing to try new things! I recently had a flashback of my roller skating days in Japan and decided to go roller skating. Discovering the old gray mare is not what she used to be! I traveled to Maine and stayed on Peaks Island. What a beautiful area! Last summer, I took a thirty day road trip from MI to Co to L.V. to CA ending in OR and then back again. I visited my cousins and had reunions along the way.

I am very excited to attend my 50th and first class reunion, so look out San Antonio here I come!!!
